The speaker is Robert Greenberg, MD - Chief of Psychiatry, Director of Geriatric Services at Lutheran Medical Center
Dr. Greenberg is
currently Chief of Geriatric Psychiatry and ECT Services, and Director of Geriatric
Services at the Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn and Clinical Associate
Professor of Psychiatry at UMDNJ – Stratford, N.J. A graduate of Mount Sinai
School of Medicine (A.O.A.), he did his internship and psychiatry residency at
New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. He has been active in the field of
Geriatric Psychiatry research as well as a teacher and trainer for over 25
years. He developed and ran Geropsychiatry programs at several large public and
private hospitals, and is currently the Director of the Memory Program at
Lutheran Medical Center. Dr. Greenberg is a co-author of the last APA Task
Force report on ECT, and has co-authored numerous book chapters and research
articles on treatments in geriatric psychiatry, with a focus on factors affecting
efficacy, safety, and relapse, particularly in the elderly. He is currently a
co-Principle Investigator in the NIMH-funded Consortium on Research in ECT
PRIDE study – “Prolonging Remission in Depressed Elderly.”
